Mumbai: Maharashtra is approaching the stage of imposing a new blockade, which Prime Minister Uddhav Thackley called for, said Secretary of State Bijay Waddettiwar on Friday.
In Maharashtra, 8,067 new cases of coronavirus were recorded during the day, an increase of 2,699 compared to Thursday, and eight people died.
The blockade stage is approaching. But the Prime Minister will make a decision when to impose it, Disaster Management Minister Waddettiwa told reporters. He added that decisions on travel and college restrictions would be made together.
