The incidence of coronavirus in Berlin is still well below the national average – Berlin.de
Berlin health centers continue to enroll a relatively small number of corona cases.
According to official data, about 413 out of 100,000 people in the city have been infected in the last seven days, the Robert Koch Institute said on Saturday (April 23, 2022). Therefore, the so-called 7-day incidence was higher than when it was estimated to be about 314 on Friday. However, the national value was Saturday, slightly below 822 and almost double that of the capital.
Experts assume that there are many unreported cases
After the pandemic Omicron wave reached Berlin earlier this year than the rest of Germany, the city became the federal state with the lowest coronavirus numbers for several weeks. Experts point out that many cases are probably unrecorded, as rapid positive testing is not always followed by PCR testing.
