The number of local Covid cases in China has been pushed to a 21-month high due to the outbreak of Xi’An.

China reported the highest daily increase in local Covid-19 cases in 21 months as infections more than doubled in the northwestern city of Xi’An, China’s latest Covid hotspot.

On the fourth day of the blockade, 13 million cities detected 155 cases of domestic infection with confirmed symptoms on Saturday. This increased from 75 the day before. Official data was shown on Sunday.

In mainland China, 206 new cases were confirmed on December 25, including imported cases, an increase from 140 cases the day before.

No new deaths were reported, with a cumulative death toll of 4,636. In mainland China, there were 101,077 confirmed cases as of December 25.
