Hotels, pensions and camps throughout the Czech Republic were visited by a total of 2.81 million tourists in the first quarter of 2022, according to data released by the Czech Bureau of Statistics. This is a 10-fold increase compared to the same period last year, characterized by a pandemic-related blockade. The number of foreign tourists was about 886,000, 16 times that of the first quarter of 2021. Meanwhile, service revenues increased 12.5% in the first three months of the year.
The most visited places included not only Prague, but also the Hradec Kralove and Liberec regions, which tourists traditionally visit for winter sports. The areas with the lowest number of tourists were Ústecko and Pardubicko.
