The search for missing Evita in Sigulda will continue. Volunteers asked for help-BalticNewsNetwork

The search for the missing 5-year-old girl Evita continues in Sigulda. Police ask volunteers for help.

Latvian state police also invite someone who was piloting a drone on the beach of the Gauja River, Sigurda, yesterday. Police believe that video footage from the drone may be useful for searching.

Two days after the girl’s disappearance, police and volunteers carefully passed through large areas on either side of the Gauja River. The search continued last night. So far, unfortunately, the search has been futile. Nevertheless, according to state police representatives, efforts will continue until the girl is found.

Volunteers and boat owners have contributed significantly to the search, police said.

As the search continues, state police urge volunteers to join and, as before, meet at 9:30 am on Perdu Street 2 in Sigulda. There they receive police coordination and action plans for the search.

Volunteer support is needed all day long. If something changes, the police will announce it.

The state police are working on all possible scenarios of what happened. Given the location and the fact that the girl was last seen underwater, most of the search is focused on underwater. At the same time, the search will be conducted by boat, not only on UAVs, but also on land with volunteers, rescue workers and K-9 units.

Police urge residents and witnesses who have information about Evita’s whereabouts to report to 67950402 or 110.
