The U.S. House of Representatives passes more gun control legislation to establish federal “red flag” legislation

Washington (Sputnik)-The US House of Representatives passed another gun control bill on Thursday, creating a federal version of the so-called “danger signal” law that restricts access to firearms to individuals reported as threats.

The House of Representatives passed the bill with a vote of 224-202, primarily in line with Partisan policy. The bill, according to the official summary of the law, “approves and establishes procedures for federal courts to issue federal extreme risk protection orders.”

Federal extreme risk protection orders prohibit a person from purchasing, possessing, or receiving firearms or ammunition. Family members, household members, or law enforcement officers can apply for federal extreme risk protection orders against individuals who believe they pose a risk to themselves or others.

On Wednesday, the House passed a separate gun control law that would raise the age of purchase of certain firearms and promote safe gun storage, among other measures.

Parliamentary conversations on firearms law related to gun violence are a series in the United States, including a mass shooting in an elementary school in Texas that killed 21 people and a mass shooting in a supermarket in New York that killed 10 people. Increased significantly after the mass shootings that attracted the attention of New York.
