The Bahamas, Nassau-Andre Rodgers Baseball Field is scheduled to be completed in November, and Working Minister Alfred Sears revealed yesterday that the facility is already lined with events.
Sears said while working on a facility that was significantly delayed while contributing to the budget debate:The project is expected to be completed later this year. Engagement and baseball engagement to utilize the facility are lined up.
“This will not only meet our domestic needs, but also generate national income and will be a major part of the Sportsin Paradise initiative.”
According to Sears, the stadium is now 70 percent complete.
TThe Christie administration initially signed a contract with the Woslee Construction Company to build a stadium for about $ 24.9 million.
Sears previously stated that the figure had been adjusted to $ 21.4 million and increased to $ 27.5 million after additional reserves and provisional charges were added.
The project came into the limelight earlier this year after it was pointed out that about $ 31 million would be needed to complete the facility.
Sears also said construction of a new glass window bridge is scheduled for early 2023.
He said the replacement of existing bridge intersections has been “deferred for a long time” and that working on the site could bring great benefits to tourism.
“”The glass window site is unique and it is important that the options chosen as replacement structures take advantage of the Bahamian people’s and visitor’s location features, “he said.
Sears said there will be a town hall meeting and a public presentation with islanders and stakeholders.
