New Delhi: Tuesday’s Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Derek O’Brien pause From Rajasaba while the BJP is “ridiculing Congress” and protesting “buldozing” the 2021 election bill.
He also expressed his hope that the 2021 election bill (amendment) passed at the Upper House on Tuesday will be abolished in the same way that the three Agricultural Land Acts were abolished this year. TMC MP faced a suspension last year while protesting the farm bill.
“The last time I was stopped from RS was during the government. It was BULLDOZING # FarmLaws. Everyone knows what happened after that. Today, BJP has #Parliament and BULLDOZING # ElectionLawsBill2021. It was suspended while protesting the ridicule. I hope this bill will be abolished soon, “TMCMP tweeted.
Derek was suspended from Rajasaba on Tuesday for the rest of Congress’s winter legislative session because he threw a rulebook at the reporter’s table during discussions on the 2021 election law (revised) bill.
Biju Janata Dal’s leader, Sasmit Patra, who was chairman, announced that Derek would be suspended, followed by a motion in the Senate by State Minister V Murridaran.
Derek, a member of the TMC, threw a Rajasaba rulebook at the reporter’s table because the chair rejected the point of his order, saying that the problem was being explained. The Treasury Bench then raised the issue to suspend him.
On the other hand, due to Derek’s suspension from Rajya Sabha, the total number of MPs suspended from House is now 13.
Previously, the House of Representatives suspended 12 members from the House of Representatives from all minutes on the first day of the winter session on November 29. (ANI)
