Earlier, as many as 20 healthcare workers at LNJP Hospital in Delhi were reported to test positive for COVID-19, confirmed Thursday by Dr. Suresh Kumar, Health Director at LNJP Hospital.
In a conversation with ANI, Dr. Suresh Kumar, Medical Director at LNJP Hospital, said: This is a concern as we can take care of patients if only our doctors and nurses are safe. If our workforce is affected, it could affect our fight against COVID-19. “
“We hired 25% additional staff to accommodate all patients,” added Dr. Kumar. LNJP Hospital has a total of 4,000 medical staff. “People who received both vaccines died of COVID-19.”
According to LNJP MD, a large number of healthcare professionals are currently testing for COVID-19 positivity at LNJP Hospital, the largest COVID hospital in Delhi.
Meanwhile, in Delhi, cases of COVID-19 continue to surge, with positive rates rising to 15.34%, as the national capital reports that 15,097 new infections have occurred in the last 24 hours. According to a breaking news issued by the State Health Department on Thursday, the number of active cases in the city is 31,498. The total number of cases has now reached 14,89,463.
