A tribute was paid to the carpenter who died after falling from the roof and sustaining injuries.
Mark McKenna, 55, was seriously injured while working at a home near Thurles, Colorado Tipperary Two weeks ago, July 15th.
He died from his injuries at Cork University Hospital over the weekend.
The Moikirquee Koolkleu Athletic Club issued a statement in tribute, stating: “The Moykerkie Koolklou AC is saddened to hear of the passing of former club athlete Mark McKenna.
“Mark competed with the club in the 1980s, the highlights of which were winning the Tipperary Community Game in the 1500 m and representing the club and county in the Community Game Final at Mosney Commerce.”
Local Independent TD Michael Rowley said:
Sean Ryan of Fianna Fail Cler said, “Mark was a gentleman. My heart goes out to the entire McKenna family at this sad time.”
McKenna is survived by his mother, Lily, brothers Michael, Paul, Liam, and sisters Elizabeth, Deirdre, Claire, Mary, Siobhan, Helen, and Catherine.

“A grief-stricken family, his mother Lily, brothers Michael, Paul, Liam, sisters Elizabeth, Deirdre, Claire, Mary, Siobhan, Helen, Catherine, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and nephews will miss him. , my niece, my grandson’s nephew, my grandson’s niece, my best friends Peggy, Mary, Melissa, relatives, neighbors, and many friends.”

His funeral Mass will be held at Two Mile Boris Church on Tuesday morning and he will be buried in the adjacent cemetery.
The family is asking for donations to the Irish Kidney Association.
