WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – Former US President Donald Trump has again hinted that he plans to run for president again in 2024.
“I ran for office twice. I was elected twice, got millions more votes than I did in 2016, and also far more votes than any sitting president in the history of our country.” said Mr Trump. “We may have to do it again now,” he said Saturday at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Dallas, Texas.
Speaking about the November midterm elections, Trump said Republicans must make campaign promises to “close borders, stop the crime wave, keep inflation under control, and hold the Biden administration accountable.”
Last month, Trump told New York Magazine that he was confident he could win the 2024 presidential election if he chose to seek re-election. The only decision was to decide whether to announce it before or after the midterm elections in November.
Trump could announce his decision to run as early as September, according to The Washington Post.
U.S. President Joe Biden’s approval ratings have fallen to an all-time low amid soaring inflation, soaring fuel prices, explosive crime rates, a liberal immigration policy, and an aggressive foreign policy.
