Hyderabad: VC Sajjanar, Managing Director of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC), rode with Gattipally Shivalal on Tuesday.
Shivalal is the first dwarf from India to have a driver’s license. Sajjanar praised Limka’s record holder’s book, praised his commitment and dedication, and called him a role model and inspiration for people.
“Today, I traveled in a car driven by Dr. Sivral. #LimcaBookofRecord Holder, also the first dwarf in India #driver’s license from #GovtOfTelangana.. I congratulate and thank him for his dedication and dedication. He’s an inspiration and role model for all of us, “Sajjanar tweeted.
42-year-old Shivaral, who lives in Kukat Parry, just three feet tall, felt he needed to be self-reliant because he couldn’t stand the consequences of having to travel by public transport.
Sivral couldn’t drive, so he relied on public transport to commute to work. He used public transport and taxis. There he became uncomfortable and learned to drive as people passed nasty comments about his height.
His intention to learn to drive became stronger when he came across a video of a dwarf man driving a car in the United States. Shivalal traveled all the way to America to understand how it works.
Convinced he was able to drive, Shivalal returned to the city and contacted a man who had a custom-made car in Hyderabad.
Shivalal is currently teaching his wife to drive a car and plans to open a special driving school in the city to allow more dwarfs to become independent. His gearless car was approved by the government of Telangana.
