Tunisia’s Jabber Advances to Wimbledon’s 1st Grand Slam Final – Middle East Monitor

Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur, second in world women’s tennis, reached her first Grand Slam final at Wimbledon yesterday.

Jabber, 27, defeated Germany’s Tachiyana Maria (34, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1) in the 2022 Wimbledon Women’s Singles Semifinals at London’s Center Court.

She became the first Tunisian and Arab player to reach the Grand Slam final.

Jabber previously reached the quarterfinals at the 2020 Australian Open. 2021 Wimbledon..

She is now planning to meet Russian-born Kazakh player Elena Rybakina tomorrow.

Jabber is currently the number one player in Tunisia and is ranked number one among African and Arab tennis players in the history of ATP and WTA rankings.
