“We don’t want to see tensions or conflicts in this ancient geography that hosts the sacred places of all three monotheistic religions,” Erdogan tells the Jewish community in Turkey and members of the Ravis Alliance in Islamic countries.
Turkey said constructive measures against occupied Jerusalem could contribute to the security and stability of the region and improve relations between Turkey and Israel, calling for a stronger atmosphere of peace in the Middle East.
“Taking positive steps on the Palestinian issue, especially in Jerusalem, will contribute to the security and stability of Israel as well as Palestine.” Turkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told a meeting of members of the Turkish Jewish community and the Rabbis alliance in the Islamic state of Ankara.
Russian Prime Minister Berel Lazar also attended the rally on Wednesday.

Turkey-Israel has a “extremely important” relationship for peace
Israel’s occupation policy on Palestinian lands has solidified the ties between Ankara and Tel Aviv. Turkey is calling for the end of Israeli occupation of Palestine.
Despite opposition to Palestine, the tourism-business link between Israel and Turkiye is underway, the Turkish president said.
“Our warning to the Israeli government is to ensure long-term peace and stability in the Middle East,” Erdogan said.
The Turkish president said he attaches great importance to the new dialogue between Israeli President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.
Last month, Herzog and Bennett called Prime Minister Erdogan to talk about the widespread bilateral and regional developments that are seen as a step towards icebreaking in a tense relationship between the two countries.
“Turkey-Israel relations are essential for regional security and stability. We are ready to improve relations,” Erdogan said.
“Israel’s sincere and constructive attitude in the context of its commitment to peace will undoubtedly contribute to the normalization process.”
