Turkish foreign minister to attend football legend Pele’s funeral in Brazil

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavsoglu will attend the funeral of football legend Pele in Santos, Brazil on Monday.

According to diplomatic sources, Turkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has instructed Chavshogur to attend Pele’s funeral.

Turkey’s Foreign Minister is currently in Brazil to attend the inauguration of President-elect Luis Inacio Lula da Silva.

The 82-year-old football icon, who died Thursday, will be buried in a private burial at the Memorial Necropole Ecumenica in Santos, Brazil.

Brazil declared three days of mourning on Thursday after Pele’s death.
