Typhoon Muifa, Marbox pair Korea – Chosun Ilbo (English version) : Korea Daily

This week, South Korea will probably escape the 12th and 13th typhoons of the year.

Typhoon Mui Hwa, which threatened to head north toward South Korea after Chuseok, is now heading toward inland China, the South Korean Meteorological Agency predicted on Monday.

Typhoon Marbok is likely to disappear in the distant ocean off the coast of Japan.

The Muifa will sail off the coast of China from Tuesday, passing through Shanghai on Thursday, Qingdao on Friday and Bohai Sea on Saturday, the KMA said.

Nevertheless, Muifa will bring 30-120 mm of rain to Jeju by Tuesday night and 5-50 mm across the country on Wednesday.

Merbok had been moving to distant waters east of Tokyo since early Tuesday morning, but will dissipate before reaching South Korea on Friday.
