U.S. Judge Rejects Request for New Depp Trial

The Virginia Judge yesterday refused to seek a new trial in a defamation case in which actress Amber Heard lost to her ex-husband Johnny Depp.
Haad’s lawyer asked Judge Penny Azkarate to set aside a jury trial that would give Depp $ 10 million and declare a fraudulent trial, but the judge rejected the request.
One of the seven jury trials was not the man summoned as a jury trial, but his son in the event of a misidentification, so the listener was seeking a new trial.
“There is no evidence of fraud or fraud,” Azkarate said, and the jury “meeted the statutory requirements for service.”
“The jury has been scrutinized, sat down for all the juries, deliberated and reached a verdict,” the judge said.
A June jury admitted that Depp and Hard were liable for defamation, but made the Pirates of the Caribbean Star stronger after a six-week fierce trial on allegations of fierce domestic violence. I supported it.
Livestreamed to millions of people, the incident featured ridiculous and intimate details about the private lives of Hollywood celebrities.
The jury inflicted $ 10 million in damages to Depp after determining that the 2018 newspaper article that Haad wrote about his experience of “sexual violence” was defamatory.
Depp, 59, sued Hard in a Washington Post editorial, but she didn’t name him, but described himself as a “public figure representing domestic violence.”
The 36-year-old Heard, who counterclaimed, was awarded $ 2 million.
