UK Weather: Meteorological Office map reveals exact dates for scorching 30C heatwave to hit as African plume swept Britain

A map from the MET office has revealed the exact date when a 30°C heat wave will hit the UK.
Temperatures are expected to rise to highs by Wednesday afternoon.
Temperatures in the southwest, including Dorset, Oxford and Gillingham in Gloucester, can reach up to 30°C.
Today’s high temperature is forecast to rise to 23 degrees.

Forecaster Stephen Dixon told The Sun:


“By the middle of next week, temperatures could reach the 30s, meeting the criteria for a heat wave in some areas.
“For our definition of a heatwave, three days in a row must reach a certain threshold depending on the region.
“There’s a bit of a question mark as to how long this heat wave will last, but it could be a heat wave.”
The heat is coming from an African plume that is now passing through France.

But forecasters said temperatures are likely to be well below the record temperatures seen during the July heatwave, when temperatures topped 40 degrees Celsius in many areas.
He explained:
“Once we enter the long range, what we consider to be anticyclones will continue to be predominantly dominant, resulting in mostly dry and mild weather.
“Mid-month temperatures are likely to remain warm across much of England and Wales.
