Ukraine: Pope demands “demilitarization of the mind”-English

(ANSA)-May 10, Rome-Tuesday Pope Francis called for “demilitarization of the mind” over the conflict in Ukraine.
In a message on Grandparents’ Day on July 24, Francis stated that a “conversion” was needed to achieve this.
“The world is experiencing a period of harsh trials, first characterized by an unexpected and violent storm of pandemics, and then by wars that undermine peace and development on a global scale,” he said.
“It’s no coincidence that the war returned to Europe at a time when the generation that survived the war was disappearing in the last century.” “We need a deep change, conversion, to demilitarize our minds and make everyone aware of our other brothers,” he said. (ANSA).
