Ukraine: “ridiculous” war, sacred right to peace-Pope-English

(ANSA)-May 23, Rome-Pope Francis said on Monday that Russia’s war against Ukraine was “ridiculous” and that Kieu’s right to peace was “holy.”

“All wars show surrender in terms of human ability to protect,” Francis told an audience of civilian protection workers.

“This is a denial of what is stated in the solemn pledge of the United Nations.

“That’s why St. Paul VI, speaking at the United Nations, declared that there was no more war.

“We repeat what is happening in Ukraine today, and we protect people’s dreams of peace, the divine right to people’s peace.” Thank you to the civil protection workers. “Especially women and children who escaped this ridiculous war.” (ANSA).
