United Arab Emirates President Eid al-Adha pardons 737 prisoners

President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Adha of the United Arab Emirates ordered the release of 737 prisoners prior to Eid al-Adha.

The pardoned prisoner was sentenced to imprisonment for various crimes, the official news agency WAM report.

The president’s annual amnesty prior to Eid al-Adha aims to strengthen family cohesion and give released prisoners the opportunity to resume their lives. Sheikh Mohammed also promised to resolve the financial obligations of the released prisoners.

The national private sector and federal officials will be on holiday to commemorate Eid Al Adher from Friday, July 8th to Monday, July 11th. The first day will be Saturday, July 9th.

Meanwhile, Eid al-Adha’s Covid safety protocol has been announced domestically. The rules limit the time of Eid prayers to 20 minutes. In the meantime, worshipers must wear a mask and maintain a distance of at least 1 meter. We also recommend the use of personal or disposable prayer mats.
