US announces new $550 million security package for Ukraine



WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – President Joe Biden will approve a new $550 million security package for Ukraine, National Security Council strategic communications coordinator John Kirby said Monday.

“Today, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Secretary of State Tony Brinken, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley announced the enduring U.S. support for Ukraine as the Ukrainian people continue to confront Russian aggression. I have spoken to our Ukrainian counterparts about the situation, and to inform them about the new $550 million security assistance package that the Biden administration will authorize today,” Kirby said at a press conference.
