The agreement is likely to include areas of trade facilitation, supply chain work and agricultural trade, the report added. Negotiations are an attempt to improve economic relations between the United States and Taiwan, and trade and sources say the investment framework agreement between the two countries will allow Washington to provide a safe and sustainable supply during its first Asian tour this week. Deployed the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF), which is described as a tool for securing and setting up chains, rules for the digital economy, investment and other important areas of cooperation. At the same time, some Indo-Pacific leaders see the new US initiative as an attempt to replace the existing Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), which Washington withdrew during President Donald Trump’s term. China is not included in the IPEF, and the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recently called on the United States to pay attention to statements and actions on the Taiwan issue, with Beijing protecting its sovereignty and security interests. Notified Washington to take strong action to do so. Officially claiming to stick to the One China principle, Washington supported Taiwan’s independence forces and sold millions of dollars in weapons to the island.

Moscow (Sputnik)-The United States and Taiwan are planning to announce economic negotiations to discuss supply chain sustainability, Bloomberg reported on Friday, citing sources.
The agreement is likely to include areas of trade facilitation, supply chain work and agricultural trade, the report added.
The talks are an attempt to improve economic relations between the United States and Taiwan and will go beyond existing discussions under the trade-investment framework agreement between the two countries, sources said.
This comes after the US Secretary of State state Antony Blinken argued that Washington would not “support Taiwan’s independence,” but like him, it would continue to expand its ties with Taipei militarily and diplomatically. China has accused it of “increasing coercion.”“”
IPEF does not include China and is reportedly aimed at countering China’s growing influence in the global technology industry.
