The agreement is likely to include areas of trade facilitation, supply chain work and agricultural trade, the report added.
The talks are an attempt to improve economic relations between the United States and Taiwan and will go beyond existing discussions under the trade-investment framework agreement between the two countries, sources said.
This comes after the US Secretary of State state Antony Blinken argued that Washington would not “support Taiwan’s independence,” but like him, it would continue to expand its ties with Taipei militarily and diplomatically. China has accused it of “increasing coercion.”“”
