(ANSA)-Rome, June 8-The Venice Film Festival archive produced a copy of Stanley Kubrick’s first film, Fear and Desire, sources said Wednesday.

The 23-year-old photographer at the time screened a film, initially named Shape of Fear, at the world’s oldest film festival in 1952.

According to film festival sources, the reconstruction of how the film came to be screened “already shows the genius of one of the greatest masters in film history.” ..

Kubrick (1928-1999) created movie milestones such as Paths of Glory, Spartacus, Doctor Strangelove, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Clockwork Orange, Barry Lyndon, The Shining, and Full Metal Jacket.

His last movie, Eyes Wide Shut, was completed in 1999 shortly before his death at the age of 70. (ANSA)
