We tested 4 body scrubs aimed at baby-soft skin

It’s fake tan time and good preparation is key.

I’ve been testing body scrubs that use exfoliating acids and physical particles to see if they help provide baby-soft skin and get a streak-free finish.

Nip+ Fab is an underrated high street brand

budget

NIP+FAB Glycol Fix Body Scrub (£12.95, nipandfab.com): Nip+ Fab is one of the most underrated high street skin care brands.

Owned by celebrity-favorite brand Rodial, it uses much of the same technology at a lower price point, so I had high hopes for this exfoliator.

It’s super fine and doesn’t hurt the skin, so it’s good for those who are worried about irritation or have sensitive skin, but it didn’t have as many dead skin beads as I expected, so it didn’t have an immediate smoothing effect. Look for it in Exfoliator.

Additionally, I found the exfoliator to be quite drying. This is not an ideal pre-fake tongue.

I have found it to be great for getting rid of a week old patchy fake tan.

First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub 10% AHA, (£26.90, feelunique.com): No “chicken skin” (keratosis pilaris), but rough, dry patches.

Even after using this every other day for two weeks, it hadn’t gone away completely.

If you have keratosis pilaris (KP), you should use it every time you shower for a few weeks to see improvement.

However, although not for its intended purpose, I have found it to be great for getting rid of a week-old patchy fake tan.

However, this has a high percentage of glycolic acid.

Kate Somerville Exfoliate Resurfacing Body Scrub(£48, katesomerville.co.uk): A combination of physical, chemical and enzymatic ingredients – apply like any other exfoliant and leave on for 3 minutes for the exfoliating enzymes and acids to work.

I felt uncomfortable with the forest green shade, but when I applied it to my skin, it turned white.

The sandy texture is deceiving as it isn’t gritty enough to remove dead skin cells, but my skin felt very soft.

The first time I used it, I faux-tanned it afterwards, but it didn’t stick to my knees or elbows.

Apply while showering to avoid staining the tiles. Best for wet skin anyway.

Christina Aguilera‘s sold out tour came to the UK this week and after seeing her on stage at O2, I went straight home and ordered a Christina Aguilera Signature Eau de Parfum, £16.

Celebrity fragrances have a bad reputation, but nostalgic, fruity floral scents are instantly uplifting and last for years.

Who said you had to spend hundreds of dollars to get a good perfume?

But the true winner of the series is 17 Creme Rip.

Bargain lipstick sales jumped an astounding 3,614% after appearing on the ITV2 show, so grab it.
