WIP – Brave New Humanity: Arts and Crafts Festival in Nicosia from 11-23 November

The CYENS Center of Excellence will host the WIP – Brave New Humanity / Arts and Technology Festival from November 11-23. The WIP (Work in Progress) Festival is an ever-evolving series of activities and exhibitions focused on the synergy between art and technology. The festival featured over 80 experiences, media artwork, performances, research projects, talks, workshops, screenings, and interactive games from invited local and visiting artists, universities, organizations, and his CYENS. will be introduced.

In an era of exponential technological development, creatives, scientists and innovators are enthusiastically rethinking natural and man-made resources by adopting emerging technologies. At the WIP Festival, as D. Norman argues in “The Invisible Computer” (1998), how our sentient and analog selves interact with new civilizations and augmented worlds that are both near and far from “nature”. Look out for this wonderful new human race exploring how to create.

A new conceptual cluster, Raw, Mechanos, Transience and Play, includes projects that serve as critical commentary, investigation and aesthetics of changing environmental and human conditions.

Organized by CYENS’ Thinker Maker Space, ITICA Research Group and Museum Lab Research Group together with respected collaborators, the festival is an annual benchmark for scientists and creators breaking new ground and experimenting at the crossroads in the Eastern Mediterranean. Aim to be a point. of art, science and technology.

All activities will take place from November 11th to 23rd, 2022 at CYENS premises and other venues near the centre.
