China’s President Xi Jinping has made a public visit to the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, state media reported today.

Legislators in the United States and other Western countries have named China’s actions in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region “genocide” and have imposed sanctions on alleged human rights abuses.
