Yasser Abdul Malak has been appointed as the new Chairman and CEO of Nestlé’s Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regions.
The appointment will take effect on January 1, 2022, and Abdul Malak will replace Remy Egel, who took office in 2020.
Ejel has joined the Global Nestlé Executive Board in Vevey, Switzerland, as Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Zone Asia, Oceania and Africa (AOA), including the Middle East and North Africa regions.
Nestlé MENA employs more than 15,000 people in 19 countries, operates 25 factories across the region, and will generate nearly $ 3 billion annually in 2020.
Abdul Malak joined Nestlé, Saudi Arabia in 1999. After his first mission, he moved to the company’s regional headquarters and led the MAGGI business as a senior brand manager until mid-2003.
After that, he was appointed as a global marketing advisor for the Swiss food business. In 2005, he was promoted to Head of Food Business in Southeast Africa. Three years later, he returned to the Middle East as a Business Executive Officer Food before being appointed Country Manager.
Due to his latest mission at Nestlé, Abdul Malak reported that he had moved from Nestlé Turkey to Dubai with strong results as CEO. He has held several leadership positions in Nestlé and is based in Egypt in Nestlé’s Northeast Africa until 2018 when he was appointed Head Zone Europe Middle East and North Africa role in the dairy division at the Nestlé headquarters in Vevey.
