Yun, Prime Minister of Denmark discusses energy and environmental cooperation

Madrid, June 29 (Yonhap News Agency)-President Yoon Suk-yul met with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on Wednesday to discuss energy and environmental cooperation, his office said.

At a conference beside the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Summit in Madrid, the two leaders welcomed the growing cooperation of countries since the establishment of the “Comprehensive Green Strategic Partnership.”

In particular, they focused on the investment and cooperation of both countries’ businesses in the areas of offshore wind power and environmentally friendly shipping.

Cheong Wa Dae said, “We have agreed to continue support at the government level so that the results of cooperation in these areas can be further realized.”

Prime Minister Yun said the international community must keep the door open to dialogue with North Korea, but must respond firmly to North Korea’s provocation. Frederiksen reaffirmed Denmark’s support for South Korea’s policy toward North Korea and promised to contribute to the establishment of peace on the Korean Peninsula.

Prime Minister Yun said he invited the Prime Minister to South Korea and is looking forward to exchanging visits.
