Aide to Los Angeles Metropolis Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez resigns over Holocaust jokes involving Amy Schumer
A high-level aide to Los Angeles Metropolis Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez has resigned from his publish after it emerged that he made Holocaust jokes about comic Amy Schumer on social media.
Councilmember Soto-Martinez posted to X, formerly Twitter, late Friday evening in response to his aide’s insensitive remarks, saying that they have been “disturbing and reprehensible.”
Though Soto-Martinez didn’t particularly identify the aide that resigned in his assertion, a number of sources report that the aide in query is Josh Androsky, and a post from former Home of Overseas Affairs Committee member Sia Kordestani reveals the alleged alternate between Androsky (@ShutUpAndrosky) and an account known as TrueAnon (@TrueAnonPod).
Within the thread, Androsky replies in settlement to the preliminary publish likening Amy Schumer to a Nazi focus camp after which later seems to make disparaging feedback about her weight.
“I known as [the concentration camp] ‘Cowschwitz!!!’” one among Androsky’s feedback stated. “Both method all of them (and Amy) smelled the identical.”
The messages from Androsky – who has served as a political advisor for at the least three of the council’s 15 members – have since been condemned by many native leaders, together with L.A. Mayor Karen Bass, who stated in an announcement that the Androsky’s remarks have been “disgusting and harmful and under no circumstances characterize the town household.”
Androsky’s account gave the impression to be deactivated on Saturday, as Deadline reported, however screenshots of his feedback are nonetheless being extensively circulated on-line.
