Man arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting woman in Backyard Grove – Orange County Register

A 32-year-old man was arrested in Backyard Grove this week on suspicion of sexually assaulting a lady, and police are asking any extra victims to return ahead.

Eric Andrew Carino of Backyard Grove was taken into custody Friday morning, Backyard Grove police Sgt. Mark Lord mentioned. A search warrant for Carino’s house led investigators to search out proof associated to the case. Police didn’t specify what they discovered.

Police accused Carino of reaching out to the woman, whose age was not launched by authorities, on  social media and asking to satisfy along with her, understanding she was underage, Lord mentioned. The social media platform was not named.

The woman agreed to satisfy, however requested to go house shortly after the assembly time, Lord mentioned.

Carino is accused of taking her to his house, the place he sexually assaulted her. He then drove her house and blocked her on the app.

The woman recognized Carino because the suspect and DNA proof was being processed by the Orange County Crime Lab, Lord mentioned.

In the course of the investigation, police discovered Carino was linked to a different sexual assault case from 2021. They didn’t present particulars.

Carino is being held in jail on $150,000 bail and is scheduled to look in courtroom Tuesday, inmate information present.
