A vessel was stranded close to Stinson Seashore after trying to assist tow a sailboat caught since July, the Marin County Sheriff’s Workplace stated.
The rescue boat appeared to run aground over the weekend amid heavy surf whereas attempting to tow the Chandalar, a 33-foot-long, 10-ton sailboat, throughout a excessive tide, sheriff’s Sgt. Adam Schermerhorn stated. The boats are trapped on Upton Seashore, close to Stinson.
The Chandalar has been caught within the sand since July 31. Authorities gave the vessel’s captain till the tip of August to take away the boat.
On Aug. 29, U.S. District Court docket Decide James Donato granted a brief restraining order stopping authorities from eradicating the boat. The restraining order ends in a couple of days, Schermerhorn stated.
