BERKELEY HILLS, Calif. (KRON) — A 36-year-old Oakland man who allegedly carried out a murderous stabbing spree within the Berkeley Hills over the weekend was recognized Thursday.
Jonah Jeremiah Roper was charged with homicide, tried homicide, residential housebreaking, business housebreaking, and evading police.
In accordance with the Oakland Police Division, on September 23, Roper stabbed his mom a number of instances at her residence on Overlook Drive within the Berkeley Hills.
“When his mom’s fiancée tried to intervene, Roper additionally attacked him with the knife. The injured fiancée went to a neighbor’s home and tried to cover” the Alameda County District Legal professional’s Workplace wrote.
Police say Roper then broke into that residence, stabbed one of many ladies who had helped disguise the fiancée, stole automobile keys, sped away in a stolen automobile. He led police on a chase till he crashed and was apprehended.
If convicted on all fees, Roper may face 44 years to life in jail, prosecutors mentioned.
