Rashee Rice of the Kansas City Chiefs Surrenders to Police Following High-Speed Crash and Assault Charge

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has turned himself in to authorities following a harrowing incident on a Dallas highway last month. The incident, involving Rice and another driver of a speeding sports car, resulted in a crash involving multiple vehicles.

Rice, 23, surrendered to the Glenn Heights Police Department, confirmed by a spokeswoman for his attorney, Texas state Sen. Royce West. Records indicate that he is currently in custody at the Regional Jail in DeSoto.

Dallas police announced on Wednesday that arrest warrants had been issued for Rice on charges including one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury, and six counts of collision involving injury. These charges stem from his alleged involvement in the crash.

According to previous statements from West, Rice was driving a Lamborghini SUV at the time of the incident. The other vehicle involved was reportedly a Corvette, driven by Theodore Knox, 21. Arrest warrants have also been issued for Knox on similar charges to those faced by Rice.

As of Thursday night, Dallas police stated that Knox was not in custody.

The crash, which caused significant damage and involved multiple injuries, has drawn attention due to the involvement of professional athlete Rashee Rice. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
