SF Fireplace rescues 3 from sailboat drifting in the direction of rocks
(KRON) — On Saturday, officers with the San Francisco Fireplace Division responded to stories of a 30-foot sailboat with three folks on it that had misplaced energy and was drifting in the direction of rocks close to the Golden Gate Bridge, SFFD mentioned in a social media put up.
At 4:36 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the scene close to Mile Rock previous the Golden Gate Bridge. When officers made contact with the boat, they confirmed that the anchor had been dropped. Officers mentioned the anchor was not holding as a result of they currents have been too robust.
Rescue boats and helicopters have been deployed to help.
Crews offered an emergency tow to Horseshoe Cove in Mari County. No accidents have been reported.
